I was up early this morning. Good morning for a drive. I ended up south of Pittsboro, roughly 30 miles from home, before I turned around (see photo to the right).
At 4:30pm this evening we arrived for dinner at Rima’s house. Rima’s parents are from Lithuania and her son Gintas is in his kindergarten year of the Mandarin Program at Katie’s school. Someone mentioned her to my wife and this resulted in the dinner party tonight. Her husband’s name is Scott and they have three children: Gintas, Skaiste and Austeja. Scott is a PhD and Rima is a lawyer.
Their kids were shy at first but soon warmed up once everyone started playing. Bobby found an Iron Man mask and wore it around the house for most of the evening. Their little girl, Austeja, took quite the liking to me. She sat beside me at dinner and laughed and laughed when I pretended to fall asleep and wake up.
On the drive home Katie asked if we could serve spaghetti at Bobby’s birthday party as this is Gintas favorite meal.
