Day #2618 (Sun., Mar. 5, 2017) – Red Beet Dye
No raccoon last night so it looks like the problem has resolved itself. With no little critters getting on the counter and looking for chocolate my wife cleaned up the kitchen this afternoon.
Next week we will be celebrating Bobby’s birthday so this will be the final Sunday to get some supplies. I went to the Dollar Store this afternoon to pick up some Spiderman tops (see photo to the left) for the gift bags that we will be handing out to the kids. I also got two larger Spiderman tops for the kids and Katie took some time to try and show Bobby how they worked.
After the kids were asleep I took to fixing up the Nerdy Nummies Spiderman Pops I saw on YouTube a while back. It didn’t quite work out as I had planned. For starters, the red beet dye we were using didn’t make the reddish color I was looking for. In addition, the chocolate warmer we got from Amazon didn’t warm the chocolate hot enough so it stuck on the Oreo cookies like a glob. I think the key is to follow the recipe exactly. Heaven knows how much trial and error they went through in order to come up with their recipe.
