My wife took Katie to a consignment sale in Chapel Hill this morning. Katie had $10 in her wallet so she enjoyed paying for her own stuff. My wife let her pick up as many books as she wanted (of course they were all about animals). My wife also got a cool car/garage track for Bobby to play with.
I decided to have Daddy/Daughter Day #55 with Katie today. We went to see the Batman Lego movie at the Silver Spot theater ($20). I got her a bag of Twizzlers to munch on ($5). The floor plan of the movie was not the same as that displayed on the screen. As there was only one seat left when I booked the tickets I resigned myself that I would have to sit where a wheelchair normally would. Well, there were two chairs where I was and the other guy at the opposite end of the row only got one. I think he saw me limping around and took pity on me and let me take the chair while he sat on the floor despite my request that he take it as he paid for it. I told him that if he got tired of sitting on the floor to come and just take my chair.
After the movie Katie and I went to McDonald’s for a Happy Meal (about $5) and to get a “Small Cakes” (about $4) after that. She picked up a Red Velvet cupcake (See photo to the right) but didn’t like it very much. She insisted on taking her little plush doggie to the movie with her. It sat in the little cup where her drink would normally be.
My wife got a little shape sorting toy this morning and we learned that Bobby has a real knack for things like this. Katie never really liked shape sorting toys very much.
