Day #2650 (Thu., Apr. 6, 2017) – Daddy Puts Katie To Bed
The crayon pack shown in the picture to the right is a big hit with the kids these days.
As I was driving Katie to school this morning the topic of Helen not wanting to talk to Max and Victor about them teasing her came up. I told Katie that as she grows older she will learn that when it comes to people she cannot always control what they do. The one thing, on the other hand, that she can control, is her reaction to what people do.
My wife went to the dentist this afternoon and was beat by the time I got home. I let her have a two-hour nap while I tended to the kids. After Katie ate we went down to her bedroom so that she could play the piano. Bobby was not all that cooperative as he wanted to play as well. Soon afterward we were on the bed as I tried to read Katie a bedtime story. Bobby would snatch the books from us and yell out “Mine”! I managed to get him out to the living room and put him in the highchair with a small tub of yogurt and a YouTube show while I tended to Katie’s teeth.
Later in the evening as I was feeding Bobby Katie came out looking for a snack. I gave her a “bowl of everything” and sent her back to her room to eat it. It was now time to wake my wife up and she took over tending to Bobby while I went to the gym for a 60-minute swim.
