My wife took Katie to Ella’s birthday party this afternoon. My wife told me that she was looking forward to attending a party in which she did not have to worry about organizing anything.
I tended to Bobby while the girls were away. It was easy to put him to bed for his nap…such a dramatic difference from last weekend.
When Bobby got up from his nap we decided to take him strawberry picking. As it turns out he could have cared less. He was more interested in the tractor he saw as we were walking to the fields. Katie, of course, was interested in feeding the chickens. Daddy’s leg was in terrible shape after navigating all those ups and down in the hilly fields.
I happened to talk to the strawberry farm owner who said that they will never sell their farm and are thinking of putting it in some sort of a trust. That’s nice…maybe the kids will be able to pick strawberries from this same field when they are our age.
After strawberry picking, we took the kids to the McDonalds on 15-501. They have an outdoor play park area (see photo to the left) and it was a big hit with the kids. Bobby was jumping up and down with delight. The food and service at this McDonald’s location were pretty bad. We think the next time we will go to Chick-Fil-A down the street for a meal and then to this McDonalds for a chocolate-dipped ice cream and to play in the play area.
The kids were exhausted and went to bed early this evening. We’ll have to remember this…
