Day #2695 (Sun., May 21, 2017) – Katie’s Piano Recital
This afternoon was Katie’s piano recital at her teacher Laura’s house. We showed up with flowers and truffles for both her and Katie. Cameron came over to take care of Bobby while we were away.
Katie and the kids sat on the floor near the piano while the parents sat in chairs. I had a seat in a key location, next to the piano, where I could take great videos and photos of the kids and their hands hitting the piano keys. Unfortunately, my cell phone died so I used my wife’s cell phone. I took photos and videos of all the kids as my wife will be able to send them to the parents. Some of them could not take great pictures as they were facing the backs of their kids as they played.
There were refreshments afterward the recital. My wife made “Piano Key” sandwiches with cold packs under them to keep them cool (see photo to the right).
My wife and I talked to Cindy, who will be Bobby’s new teacher this fall. We “warned” her that he is loving but very physical. Laura, the piano teacher, chimed in and said that it will be fine…Cindy is great with kids.
I spent quite a bit of time this afternoon talking to Jeff, Cindy’s husband, who is a Cisco engineer. We talked a lot about artificial intelligence and how it will be transforming our lives. He mentioned that they have already figured out how to make bricks out of Martian soil. Plans are to 3D built dwellings on Mars with these bricks.
Sophi was also at the piano recital and came over to our house in the afternoon for a play date with Katie.
