Day #196 (Sun., July 18, 2010) – Catch The Tongue
We went to the Mexican Restaurant down the road for lunch today. I took little Katie in my arms for a tour and she loved looking at all the people. She loved the bubble-gum machine…all the pretty colors and the big containing globe.
My wife and I were both “zonked” when we got home from the restaurant. We took a nap while my mother-in-law took care of little Katie. It’s good that she is here…with all the studying and work taking care of little Katie would be a real challenge.
The photo to the right shows another little toy that excites little Katie. It’s a plush sheep, and when I move it in front of her she gives out a squeal. I think she likes the big eyes, but the plush tail has earned a place in her mouth as well.
Little Katie has found a new game which I call “Catch The Tongue” (I think she calls it “Grab It Tightly And Pull It Out”). I will stick out my tongue and she will try to catch it. My tongue is scratched and sore from her fingernails. When I stuck my tongue out today she said “Hmmm” and really went for it. Gonna wait for my tongue to heal before I try that again.
Little Katie was sitting on the bed next to me when she reached for the remote control. She grabbed it and was in the “tripod position”. My wife said that this was the first time she saw little Katie in this position.
