I had a dream last night where Bobby was running and accidentally ran into the Japanese empress grandmother (about 100 years old) and knocked her over. The entourage said that there would be “Hell to pay”. I told Bobby to make amends. He looked at me and then walked up to the old lady and apologized and she fell in love with him. The next scene there was some sort of an awards ceremony, like the Academy awards, and I was sitting up on stage next to the Japanese empress. They mentioned after all the awards that there was a special award. The MC started to walk over to me and presented me with a Batman mask and cape and put it on me. He said that “Now you can be Bobby’s hero” and I walked over to him next ot his mother and sister in the main audience and gave him a hug.
My wife walked over to Carolina Beach with the kids this morning.
This afternoon my wife took Katie to the NC Aquarium while Bobby and I napped. The original bed I was sleeping on was like a marshmallow so Bobby and I switched rooms as my back was killing me. Katie continued to sleep on the top bunk bed in the other room with mom on the floor.
We were thinking of taking the ferry to SouthPort this afternoon but the line was too long. There is no way we are going to be able to entertain Bobby while waiting in line for a ferry at his age.
We stopped off at the park in Fort Fisher and the kids got some ice cream from the ice cream truck. My wife had a hard time getting the stain from this ice cream off the kid’s face. What do they put in this stuff. Alas, Bobby managed to get bit by fire ants while he was out and about. Bad rash on his legs.
We ended up at McDonald’s for dinner. Two Happy Meals for the kids and my wife got a chance to use their WiFi. We were then off to the boardwalk area where I paid $25 for 20 tickets. This effectively equated to 4 rides for the kids. There was a quick train ride and one on the carousel but they both seemed to like the ride on the motorbikes the most.
Katie wanted to play a carnival game so she could try to win something. I told her that when I was a kid it was hard to win anything of value at one of these games but they have changed the rules some-what. She played the dart game and I paid $10 so she could get a bubble wand that you can pick up at the Dollar Store for $1. $10 more means that she could “upgrade” to a stuffed animal. She did well in throwing the darts and busting the balloons. She effectively won a stuffed giraffe for $20 by the time it was all said and done (see photo to the left).
