My wife went to some consignment stores this morning to pick up some supplies. Katie wanted to stay home with me, so she got to have some time to herself…and loved it. Unfortunately, the store near Southpoint has closed, but she did get a lot of stuff at the store near Sam’s Club.
Wyatt came over to our house to play with Katie today. I was trying to feed Bobby and put him to bed at the time, which was tough, as he wanted to get down and play. He had to go home in a couple of hours to bake Christmas cookies with grandma.
I went to get goat’s milk at Whole Foods this afternoon when my wife texted me that Bobby was up from his nap. I picked up the milk, drove home, and we were off with the kids to Cary to see the Christmas lights.
Bobby had the time of his life. Katie was rather subdued…I think because my wife didn’t let her take the “Elf On The Shelf” with her to see the various displays. She was scared that she would lose it.
The main light display on High House was still there (see photo to the left). I got a chance to talk to the owner who said his brother owns the inflatable Christmas display across the street. We got to see a light display on a $1.6 million mansion owned by a guy from Guatemala. The guy who had the “old fashioned” ornament display near where we used to live had a Christmas party and was serving alcohol.
On the drive home, we stopped off at McDonald’s and got the kids a couple of Happy Meals. The toy was a train car and they join together to make a train…cool.
