My wife dropped the van off at Lloyds this morning. She went to pick it up this afternoon and told me to take care of Katie and Bobby. It took a while for me to get ready so I overheard Katie and Bobby in the hallway. Here’s how the conversation went.
Bobby wanted to play with Katie and Katie said that she wanted some alone time. Bobby ended up in the front yard crying and Katie was in her bedroom. It sounded like computer gaming sounds coming from her room. I went to see what the problem with Bobby was and Katie said that he missed mommy. She then said that she went into her room to look for crayons for him. As I sat on the LazyBoy with Bobby on my lap trying to calm him down I could see Katie looking at me with a worry some look. Kind of like, did he buy my story?
The problem with the van was a bad alternator. The cost was around $500. That’s not chicken feed…but it could have been a lot worse.
This evening we walked to the end of the street, past the treehouse, and back. I used the walker as a cane. Steven and his boys and Penny from next door joined us on the walk.
We have decided to talk to Sharon tomorrow about what materialized with Katie this afternoon. We want to make sure we approach the situation properly and don’t overly punish.
Katie says that she does not have the computer. Where could it be?
