Bobby was crying in the hallway this morning. Apparently, he turned the water to the hose on and the sprinklers started spewing water all over the place. It didn’t occur to him to turn off the water, so he was trapped between the sprinklers and the house. His mom came to turn off the water and rescue him. He kept crying and telling me that he hated water. Sitting on daddy’s lap and watching scary monster truck videos on television seemed to do the trick in calming him down.
I had Daddy/Daughter Day #69 with Katie this afternoon. I’m still recovering from the surgery, and cannot drive, so we refined the play on the veterinarian game that we are developing (see photo to the right).
We see that there is a hot air balloon festival in Fuquay-Varina this weekend. We were thinking of driving over, but it is a long drive and the kids will probably want to go for a ride, so we decided to wait a year or two. Besides, my wife has designated this as “clean up the house” weekend.
We had dinner at the Chick-Fil-A in Durham this evening so that the kids could play in the play area. Katie took the sticker books up to the counter to exchange them for ice cream cones.
We stopped off at Target afterward so that I could go for a walk and my wife could get laundry detergent. We ended up getting over $200 worth of groceries. When you go to Trader Joes you know where everything is. When you go to stores like Target you get inundated with all kinds of items.
