This morning my wife and I took Katie and Bobby on the ferry to Southport. It was the first time either of them had been on a boat. Dzenen and Arnesa wanted to enjoy the beach so they took baby Ayra there instead.
Once we got to Southport we had breakfast at a restaurant. Katie and I were both quite tired from the Dramamine that we took. It was close to Bobby’s nap time so we just turned around and took Bobby home.
When I got up from my nap I took Katie out for a bit of a Daddy/Daughter day. We went looking for a kite. When Dollar General didn’t have them we ended up at a discount store (similar to Big Lots) near the old Carmike Theater. They had kites, but I’m sure glad the lady took us to them as I would have never found them. We got a “puffer kite” as it is easier to fly.
The next stop was Magic Beans where I got some work done. I got Katie a two scoop ice cream cone (strawberry and chocolate) and a two scoop dish (coconut and butter pecan) for myself. You can see Katie’s ice cream mustache in the photo to the right.
This evening we went to the boardwalk so that the kids could enjoy some rides. Some of the ticket takers didn’t take our tickets, which was nice considering the outrageously inflated prices they were charging. Katie and Bobby wanted to play the “3 ducks” game where you pick up 3 ducks and whatever is on the bottom of them indicates the toy you will get. Of course, Katie got a plus orca whale and Bobby got a gun. I showed Bobby how to use the gun but had to keep an eye on him so he didn’t shoot the plastic dart at anyone.
Dzenen and Arnesa took baby Ayra to Havana, a Cuban restaurant for dinner this evening.
