This new La Quinta had a free breakfast buffet as well. Of course Bobby didn’t eat anything. It seems that he needs to be “out and about” before he gets hungry.
We got out of Pigeon Forge early so there was no “antique car” traffic to contend with. Smooth sailing to Asheville, North Carolina where we stopped off at a fun park. The bumper cars were out of commission due to the rain from Hurricane Florence, so we did other things. Katie played putt putt golf with my wife while I showed Bobby around the various arcade games. He really liked the various car and motorcycle games.
After playing we all had a burger at the local restaurant inside the fun park. Not cheap, but convenient.
We were soon on our way and needed to make a potty stop in Waynesville. We got Katie a “snap” bracelet and Bobby a monster truck at the gas station. Katie put a leash on the monster truck when we got home (see photo to the left).
We got home around dinner time. No trees were down as Hurricane Florence took a turn to the south rather than the direct hit in the Raleigh area as we had feared. Having said that, it’s still raining outside. Will the trees be able to stand upright for one last night?
