Day #3183 (Sun., Sept. 23, 2018) – Learning To Play Cards
I had Daddy/Daughter Day #73 with Katie today. She wanted to learn how to play cards so we went to the Dollar Store and picked up a pack of playing cards and some ring pops. The next stop was McDonald’s for a Happy Meal (with a toy pony I might add) to spend the afternoon (see photo to the left).
I taught Katie a version of a card game that we used to call “Old Maid” when I was growing up. We played quite a few hands and she loved it. I also showed her a memory trick where you can remember 10 random things on a list. The key is to make a story that weaves each item together. She didn’t enjoy this as much as the cards though.
On the way home we stopped off at the garage and got a Strawberry Shortcake ice cream (her favorite).
