Today was Daddy/Son Day #3. I took Bobby with me as I make my round and did some errands around town. The idea is to have him learn to do a few things, and have fun doing it.
For example, he got to learn how to ground coffee at Trader Joe’s (see photo to the right). He was very happy to be able to push the grinder button. I had to go to Trader Joe’s to pick up some dried cranberries for my wife anyway.
We also went to Whole Foods and Bobby got to ride in one of their firetruck shaped shopping carts. He noticed that the seat was wet from rain before he sat down. The lady nearby said that she would not have recognized that. He is so observant.
Whole Foods was out of goat’s milk. Not sure what the deal is with that. I gave Bobby the opportunity to choose any frozen treat that he wanted. He chose a frozen strawberry popsicle shaped thing with chocolate chips. Quite the combination, but he sure loved it.
This evening I took my wife and Katie to piano class, and Bobby and I went to McDonald’s. I guess you could call this Daddy/Son Day “Part 2″… There was a little girl nearby who came over to sit with us. I guess her father was up at the counter ordering and he came and took her away to a booth for their meal.
