Day #3441 (Sat., Jun 8, 2019) – Telling The Kids About Disney World!
I watched the “Haunted House” episode of Andy Griffith with Bobby this morning in the bedroom. He seemed to really like it. I explained it as it went along. I’m hoping that he will get attached to a “wholesome show” like this rather than all that “drivel” on YouTube.
This afternoon we confirmed our booking to Disney World in August, so it was time to tell the kids. Katie was excited and Bobby was rather stunned (see photo to the left). We are planning two days in the Magic Kingdom and one day at Epcot Center.
We sat them down in Katie’s room and videoed the event. In order to get Bobby to sit in place, I told him that I was going to turn into a monster. We told them how proud we were of them and that we wanted to give them a treat that few kids had the privilege of having. Katie was very excited and Bobby was a bit overwhelmed. He did enjoy the idea of going on his first plane ride. Afterward, he told me that he still wanted me to turn into a monster.
The kids spent the evening watching YouTube videos about Disney World and getting some idea of what they want to see while they are there. Katie has started to pack.
