Day #3453 (Thu., Jun 20, 2019) – Bristol Board Farm Set

When I woke up this morning Katie, Alma, and Bobby were playing in the front yard with a little bird’s egg they found. They were “rescuing” it.

There was a potential that Alma’s mom, also called Katie, would take them swimming this morning but it was not to be. She picked Alma up to do some errands, so the kids and I made a farm set out of the bristol board we picked up at the Dollar Store yesterday (see photo to the right).

Around 3 pm today the power went out. As it got darker and darker outside we were losing hope that it would come back this evening. Bobby, Katie and I played a game of “Maple in the Middle”, where we take turns throwing a tennis ball to each other and Maple tries to get it. It got a lot more difficult as the sun went down and we had one flashlight to guide our way.

When my wife got up from a nap we decided to go out rather than just sit in the dark and go to bed. We ended up at Wendy’s (where we always seem to go when the power goes out) for 4 Frosty’s. When we got home we found a flashlight for each of us then it was off to bed.
