Day #3467 (Thu., Jul 4, 2019) – 4th of July
Happy July 4th!
My wife made tiny hamburgers on the sweet rolls that I picked up at Trader Joe’s yesterday. The kids loved them…especially Katie.
We decided to not go to the Clark Pool in Carrboro today as we thought it would be packed due to the 4th of July. We were to later learn that the pool was practically empty. Go figure…
This evening we bundled up the kids and took them to see the Chapel Hill fireworks. It was in Southern Village this year (it was at the stadium last year).
The traffic was really bad as we drove towards Southern Village. I decided to stay in the van and just drop the wife and kids off at the Southern Village park and come back and get them. There were no parking spaces pretty well anywhere around. I managed to park the van on a side street and see the show (see photo to the right). 20 minutes later it was time to go back and pick them up.
Traffic was a nightmare. We decided to go south instead of north and take the loop through Carrboro and near Arnesa’s house to get home. I think it was a wise decision…
