Some of the plants that were outside are working their way into Katie’s room (see photo to the left).
My wife picked up Katie at 10 am this morning. She told me that she had about four hours sleep…which is pretty much “normal” for a sleepover. Natasha, the girl whose birthday it was, was the first to fall to sleep. The two girls who fell asleep last, and had only two hours sleep, were from Natasha’s new school. Dylan was also there for the part, but he didn’t spend the night.
My wife was trying to encourage Katie to go to sleep all day, but with limited results. She did sleep for about half an hour though… This afternoon I told her that this was how it was going to play out. No matter what, she had to make sure that she was up “bright eyed and bushy tailed” tomorrow morning in time for school. I told her that if she did not, mom would attribute this to the sleepover, and the sleepover opportunity would “dry up”…
I went to run some errands and when I returned Bobby was up from his nap. There was no sign of Katie because mom said that she fell asleep in Bobby’s bed. I guess that Bobby came and got her and asked her to sleep with him. Once she lied down she was “out”.
It’s 8:50 pm and Katie just walked by… She told mom that she was “going to bed”. I joked with her how this is one phrase I never thought I would hear her say. I asked her if it was hard to formulate these words…kind of like trying to say a new phrase in Chinese. We had a nice chuckle… Good to have her back.
