Day #3609 (Sat., Nov. 23, 2019) – XMas Tree Is Up
My wife was eager to find something for the kids to do today so we put the tree up. Traditionally in the United States it goes up after Thanksgiving, but this is only less than a week away. Both Bobby and Katie enjoyed “trimming the tree”. I told Katie the joke, “What’s the Christmas song that is based upon dynomite being thrown down a watering hole”? “No well, no well… the angels did say”…
I drove down to SilverSpot this afternoon to pick up “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” tickets for Katie and I. We are having a Daddy/Daughter day tomorrow and I wanted to make sure that we didn’t miss out. Judging from the seats left over it looks like it might be sold out tomorrow! There are probably tons of people who want to see Harry Potter on the big screen again.
This afternoon I baked the chestnuts that I bought at Trader Joe’s the other day. Despite putting a cross in the end, as suggested, a couple of them exploded in the oven. Katie got quite the kick out of that. Katie thought that they were okay, but Bobby actually spit them out. I had Alexa play the Christmas song in which the opening starts with “Chestnuts roasting on an open fire”.
