Day #3679 (Sat., Feb. 1, 2020) – Home Depot Children’s Workshop

There was a children’s workshop at Home Depot this morning so I signed Bobby up. We build a wooden heart plaque for Valentine’s Day (see photo to the right).

He was fine on the way to Home Depot, and even as we were walking to the event. As soon as we got there though he “clammed up”. He got quiet and refused to let me put the apron on him. I thought we might have to leave. Was it the sound of all the hammers? Or the crowd? At any rate, he warmed up eventually after I started to build the kit for him. I guess he just needed time to adjust to this new event (just like daddy would have to when he was younger).

After Home Depot I took Bobby to Chick-Fil-A for an ice cream. He insisted on having ketchup on it. Yeech… He would go and play in their play area and then be back for a bite of ice cream and then off again.

I’m trying to get Katie to wrap up the short story we worked on last Monday but that is proving easier said than done…

Bobby was going to sleep in Katie’s room tonight but they both have a fever so they slept in separate rooms.
