Day #3721 (Sat., Mar. 14, 2020) – Snakes & Ladders

So the kids are home from school for two weeks. We’re still trying to figure this whole “Corona Virus – State of Emergency” thing out, but since testing kits are not readily available right now we really don’t know how many cases there are around us. The wise owl say’s “be cautious”, so we’re going to err on the side of caution and not meet anyone for a while…or at least as much as possible.

Katie had a Chinese class via Zoom this afternoon so I took care of Bobby. We played with some Legos, then activity books, and then I showed Bobby how to create a “Snakes & Ladder” game (see photo to the right). This is the first time he showed any sort of discipline regarding board games. His attention span was just not there before this. It looks like that might have changed. We played quite a few games. I taught him the phrases “Boxcars” and “Snake Eyes” as you throw the dice (with blowing on them beforehand of course).

The number of people testing positive for COVID-19 continued to rise Saturday in North Carolina ( up to 24 ) as new measures were ordered by Gov. Roy Cooper to try to stem the spread of the disease.

Bobby got into my room and opened up a couple of packages. He’s getting more daring in his exploits. We have been punishing him by taking computer time away but we might have to increase this punishment moving forward.
