Day #3791 (Sat., May 23, 2020) – Rush McDimple & The PowderPuff Possy
The Lego sorting containers came today (see photo to the left). My wife has been sorting the Lego blocks into various containers for the kids.
Bobby wanted me to put him to bed this evening. He wanted me to read him a story but I told him I would tell him a story instead. Here’s what I came up with, spur of the moment…
Rush McDimple & The PowderPuffy Possy. Rush was the sheriff of a small town. Everyone in town was bad, so he needed to form a posse to help him out. He put the call out and four people applied for the job. One was an old woman, but because she needs to take a nap mid-day she was sent home. A little boy also applied, but because he needs to go to school he was sent home as well. Twin boys from the outskirts of town also applied. They lived on the family farm and took care of their parents and dog Spot, so they were chosen.
When I stopped talking Bobby said “Is that all?” So on I went to create “Chapter 2”.
Chapter #2, “Black Bart”. Black Bart was done terrorizing his town. He needed new people to terrorize, so he went to Rush McDimple’s town and had a drink of whiskey in the saloon. He told the bartender that he was there to find new people to terrorize. The bartender sent a boy to warn Rush McDimple. Rush McDimple rounded up his PowderPuff Possy and confronted Black Bart in the bar. He challenged Black Bart to a duel at high noon. Rush McDimple shot the gun out of Black Bart’s hand so Black Bart took off and started to run away. The PowderPuff Possy rounded him up and took him to jail. He was there for a long time. So long in fact that he decided to go straight. He thought about becoming a lawyer but that would break his promise about going straight so he became the town’s pastry chef. So there, the story has a “sweet” ending.
At that point Bobby asked “What about the next chapter”. I told him that it was just a short book.
