Day #3833 (Sat., July 4, 2020) – Fire Engine Parade

There was a parade of fire engines in Carrboro this morning (see photo to the right). Not quite your normal July 4th parade, but a parade none-the-less. We drove the kids (and Maple) out to see it. I stayed in the van with Maple while my wife took the kids to the side of the road to see the festivities. There were only a couple of fire trucks, police cars, and a garbage truck, so it was over quite quickly.

We decided that we would follow them… So there we were, in a prominent position right behind the garbage truck, waving to the people who lined the streets. The old people in particular got quite the kick out of it. I bet it reminded them of the days of their youth when they used to see the parade in their hometown.

This evening the kids snuggled up in the master bed to watch the remaining portion of “Narnia – Prince Caspian”. I gave them the tart cherry gummies that Katie and I made last night. We also tried out the “buttery popcorn” seasoning and the kids really liked it.
