Katie said that the kids were talking about what they are afraid of. Katie said that she is scared of being kidnapped. Some kids mentioned that they are scared of the Kool Aid mascot. I show Katie the Burger King mascot on YouTube…some people are scared of him.
The photo to the left shows a typical scenario around our house… The kids playing video games and Maple begging them to throw her the tennis ball…
Bobby had a 1 1/2 hour nap in the LazyBoy this afternoon.
Katie wrote a short story of her last day at school before COVID-19:
“Cona virus?” I asked, looking at my friends. Rumor was a deadly virus had started up in china! “No silly! Coronavirus! Not cona virus!” One of my friends laughed. “It wont come here… right?” I asked as I opened a gator green, cold door. “Ha! Probably not. It’s most likely just a rumor.” Another one of my friends said. “Oh.” I looked at my rainbow shoes as my friends went back to giggling and gossiping. “Squeak, squeak, squeak” Went my shoes. I squinted my eyes as I looked at the sun, which was rippling through the faint clouds. The wind blew through my hair as i looked up at my bus. “Here’s my bus. Bye, girls!” I said as I waved and walked up the raven black bus steps. I held onto the railing as my friends waved back. “Creak, croak, creak!” Went the bus floor as I sat in my seat and plopped my backpack on the seat next to me, as I scooted right next to the window.
“Boom! Bam! Crunch!” Went the bus as I opened my backpack and started diving through it. “Where is it…” I muttered to myself as I looked for my book. “Here it is!” I whispered to myself. I placed my book on my lap, while I went to work shutting my bag. I placed it back next to me, and I leaned against the window as I opened my book to the chapter I was reading. “Hahaha!” The boys laughed as they did whatever they did, While i rolled my eyes. I continued to read my book, until the bus swerved a sharp turn. I held onto my book and bag for dear life as the bus continued to turn. When it started to move softly again, I loosened my grip on my backpack and closed my book. “Well, i’ll have to read when i get home.” I muttered to myself as I unzipped my bag and plopped my book back in. “It’s really nice out.” I said as I propped my elbow on the windowsill. I gazed out the window, admiring the speeding cars and waving trees.
“Almost home.” I said to myself as I watched the stoplight turn from a rose red to a lime green. “Squeak! Squeak! Squeak!” Went the bus as I put on my blue and silver backpack. I got ready to stand up, because if i was too slow, my bus driver would get angry. I looked out the window one last time, thinking about the awesome 2 week break I was gonna have. I looked back at the bus’s hallway, only to see that the bus had stopped. I got up from my seat and clutched my backpack as I walked down the walkway. “Creak, croak, creak!” Went my shoes as I thanked my driver and walked down the steps, to see my mom. “Hey mom!” I said as I greeted her. I smiled, excited for my long break.
