This morning Bobby was one of the first kids to join Ms. Towne’s class, so she had a chance to chat with him. She said that the level D he is currently reading in Raz Kids is the level she used to read with her 1st graders.
Bobby wanted me to push him on the swing this afternoon. As soon as I started to push him I happened to notice the rope near the area where it goes over the main tree branch. It has started to fray (see photo to the left).
I’m glad that I bought the huge long rope. I was able to cut off the piece of frayed rope and use the extra length of rope to go over the tree branch. At the rate that the kids use this swing, we will have to replace it again in a few months, but it only cost $89…so quite an inexpensive form of entertainment. I will probably get about four “swing lengths” of rope out of this one huge rope I purchased. I thought about getting some sort of friction resistant sleeve for the rope, but that will probably be more problem to deal with than it is worth.
Katie told me that Taylor Swift is the most popular singer in America. Number one is Ariana Grande. I’m not sure who they polled? Ten year old girls perhaps?
