Day #4186 (Tue., Jun 22, 2021) – Google Fiber
We had Google Fiber installed today. It is lightning fast compared to the old Spectrum installation we had. As I don’t want to rely on Wi-Fi during class, I’m still going to go with a direct line from my computer to the router. In September Elon Musk is saying that Starlink will be available. Will we switch? I suspect not… Starlink will be great for rural communities that don’t have access to broadband though.
There was a special on television about a new book series for young girls about owning their own business. My wife ordered it on Amazon for Katie. She was able to get it a bit cheaper as Prime Day is still in effect.
I’m having computer performance issues with my video editing software Shotcut. I ordered an additional 8 gigs of memory from Dell tonight. Hopefully that will resolve the issue.
This home (see photo to the left) is near the land I own in The Falls, Nova Scotia… They want $1,200,000 for it! I have been talking to the kids (half jokingly) about renting a camper and spending our summers in Nova Scotia.
