Day #4201 (Wed., Jul 7, 2021) – Maple & The Copperhead
My wife and Katie were taking Maple for a walk this evening and she got bitten by a copperhead snake. We phoned around and there is a vet hospital in Cary that will see us, but they don’t have any anti-venom. We decided to take her there, so we left around 10:30 pm this evening.
Unfortunately I could not see the end of the Stanley Cup Final game. There was three minutes left in the third period. The Lightning got their second Stanley Cup in a row this evening. They defeated the Canadiens.
I drove the van with my wife and Maple. Once we arrived at the Quartet Animal Hospital (see photo to the right), we had to wait for the vet to come to the van. He took Maple inside with him (we had to wait in the van). After another wait, we were told that he wanted to keep Maple overnight. The blood from Maple’s paw, where she was bitten, is still not clotting.
