Little Katie is starting to use the baby gate to support herself as she tries to stand up. She’s almost there. Her legs get tired and she gives up in short order, but she will soon develop muscle strength and be able to stand up before you know it. It’s going to be hard to keep up with her once she is walking. I’m glad that we have all the jigsaw mats in place in case she happens to fall.
My wife tells me that whenever little Katie hears me she says “taa” (rhyming with what a lamb says…Baa). This has happened often enough that it appears that this is little Katie’s name for me. Perhaps she is trying to say “da” (as in “dada”) but her language capabilities are limited.
The photo to the left shows the current status of little Katie’s teeth (taken while she was eating as you can probably tell by the food on the face).
Little Katie was playing with me on the bed this evening and she started to play with a new alarm clock I purchased. She managed to open the box and pull back the flaps. She had some difficulty grabbing onto the plastic to remove the actual clock, but she did know what had to be done. You should have seen the concentration on her face. She is such a curious and intense little animal.
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
