5:31am – As if we don’t have better things to do at this hour (such as sleep)…my wife and I are up talking about what little Katie likes to eat. My wife said that she has very particular tastes…you can’t stuff her like a turkey, she knows what she wants and she goes for it. She gave her a combination of yogurt and mango and bananas yesterday and although my wife thought it was disgusting, little Katie loved it. At least little Katie will not have any competition for it.
My wife sent me an email at work. Little Katie is grabbing two soft rings (from the cone), bangs them, bangs them behind her head, drops them, picks them up and starts the same routine again.
When I got home from work this evening little Katie was still up. My wife tried to put her to bed, but once she knew I was home she would not sleep. She cried and turned red-faced and tears formed. I took her to the playyard and played with her…so much for her nap. I gave her some plastic Entertainment Book Cards (see photo to the left) to play with. I showed her where the digits were raised on the cards and she ran her fingers along them.
Little Katie had a #2 this evening. They are right when they say that once a baby starts eating solid foods the smell will come…
8:36pm – Little Katie will not sleep this evening. We’ve tried about three times to put her to bed, but to no avail. She’s in the playyard playing right now. I heard a rustling sound a bit earlier and she had somehow managed to get ahold of a plastic Kleenex tissue bag. I was afraid that she might choke on the plastic so I asked her to give it to me, and she did. Surprise, surprise…I thought I would have to get up and go into the playyard to get it.
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY

1) Little Katie is getting more and more connected to daddy.
