Day #4376 (Wed., Dec. 29, 2021) – Secrets Of The Forbidden City

I called Canada Pension this morning to determine the amount of my monthly payments in Canadian dollars.

I called Social Security to determine why I will be getting my first check in April, not March.  The receptionist left a message for the lady who is handling my case to call me back.

There was a forecast of rain today, so my wife cancelled all the playdates and such for the kids.  As it turned out, it didn’t rain till this evening, so in many respects it was a wasted day.  I did push Bobby on the swing and we launched some rocket balloons and played a bit of soccer.  Bobby even tried to train Maple a bit with treats (see photo to the right).

This evening my wife, Katie, and I, watched a PBS Documentary on the “Secrets of the Forbidden City”.  They talked about how the structures, which were built in the early 1400’s, were able to withstand earthquakes > 10.0 on the scale.  If I was living in San Francisco I would want a building built like that.

I made some cabbage soup this evening and Katie loved it.
