Day #4395 (Mon., Jan. 17, 2022) – Icy MLK Day

It’s MLK Day here in the US, and we still have a snowy/icy mixture on the ground.  Bobby has been inquiring about creating a snowman, but the “stuff” outside is just not right for it.  If it’s too icy, such as the stuff that is outside right now, or too fluffy, it will not create a great snowman.

The photo to the left shows the new “whole milk” drinkable yogurt that Bobby loves.  I have recently started picking it up at Trader Joe’s.

I took the time this afternoon to show Bobby the “Dangerous Book For Boys”.  I thought that we might do one of the activities together.  Perhaps learn some coin tricks?  Learn how to tie knots?  How about create a great paper airplane?  Well, Bobby didn’t seem to be too interested, so we played a few hands of “Fish”, the card game that he likes.  I think I need to reimagine this book and how Bobby will interact with it.  The Minecraft and Roblox video games that he plays seems to dim his desire for activities like this book features.

We got an email this afternoon that school will be cancelled tomorrow.  There will still be some ice on the roads, and they are concerned about buses getting stuck.  We have a shortage of bus drivers so I wonder how many would actually be running tomorrow anyway?  The kids are all excited about having another day off school.

I made some vegan breakfast sausages in the air fryer this evening and my wife and I thought they were delicious.  The kids found them disgusting… 🙂
