Day #4407 (Sat., Jan. 29, 2022) – Teen Book

Bobby was really fussy and tired this afternoon, so, long story short, he ended up taking a nap.  When does he get up in the morning?  Does he play with his iPad all night?  We have a camera to monitor when he gets up, but my wife forgot to set it up last night.  We usually put the iPad away as well so that he doesn’t have anything to play with.

I took Katie out on Daddy/Daughter Day #114 this afternoon.  We went to Chick-Fil-A and talked about the new book I bought.  I’m going to go over a bit with her on each of our Daddy/Daughter Days.  After Chick-Fil-A we drove around to Spence’s Farm to see the “old haunt” that Katie used to spend so much time at.

When we got home Penny, our neighbor, and another girl, came over to see Katie.  They wanted Katie to join them in the petition so that they could go to Target to buy beads, but we didn’t think it was a good idea so they went on their way.  We had a long chat with Katie about avoiding situations that put you in bad light.

Brin’s mom sent the following text to my wife this evening.  Brin was a classmate of Bobby’s when he was taking online classes.  She said:

Sorry for the late weekend text mamas but I just got done working out and this was on my mind. Your kids are AMAZING! Yesterday while playing Brynn said that she was so bad at something and without hesitation both of your boys jumped in to uplift her and explained to her that she’s isn’t bad she’s still learning. It was so powerful and wonderful to hear bc no matter how many times I say it to her it seems to not be heard as much anymore. I feel like over the last year she really started to get hard on herself with everything and when she gets something wrong or has a hard time with it she says “I’m so bad” or “I’m terrible” I don’t know where she got it from or why bc we are so encouraging and I never want her to feel like this. So it breaks my heart to hear her say it and I try to so hard to uplift and constantly let her know that she’s learning and mistakes are not a bad thing at all. That it’s okay. But to hear both your kids jump in so quickly to catch her was seriously so touching it almost made me cry on the spot. Thank you both for letting them have these times and whatever you mamas are doing you are doing it amazingly ❤️❤️

This evening Katie had an online Roblox playdate with Danica, a friend she met at school last week.
