Day #4431 (Tue., Feb. 22, 2022) – Blackbeard

I dropped Bobby off at school this morning.  We were there early so we waited in the car for a bit before the teacher came to our car door to get Bobby.

I went back to pick Bobby up at 1:50 pm.  There are two school buses that always seem to be behind me on the way to Glenwood when I leave at that time.  I try to let them get a head of me so that I don’t have to worry about them squeezing by me when I am in the line to pick up Bobby.  All of us “pick up cars” straddle an unseen middle line in the middle of a two-way street.

A boy named Walker (Bobby told me his name) often sees Bobby to the car when I pick him up.  Bobby said that he is a nice guy…like Margaret is nice…

On the way home we talked about pirates, which I just read about in the “Dangerous Book For Boys”.  I told him that Ocracoke, where we will be going this summer, was the headquarters of Blackbeard, one of the most famous pirates.

Bobby mentioned that he had “Spaghetti & Meatballs”, with an orange and of course, chocolate milk, for school lunch today.  When we got home I tried to find the 1967 Spiderman cartoon featuring Edward Teach (i.e.: Blackbeard), but it was not on YouTube.

I drove to Sam’s Club to get groceries this evening.  We need to stock up in case this Russian invasion of the Ukraine gets out of hands and networks are hacked and we find ourselves running low on supplies.  Canned goods and paper towels were two “must gets”.  I also picked up some Easter supplies (see photo to the right) as they tend to be hard to find come March/April.

Katie told me that Carmen and Nico are becoming good friends at school.
