Day #4435 (Sat., Feb. 26, 2022) – Katie’s First McFlurry

Bobby was fussy in viola/violin class this morning and would not stop hitting Katie.  My wife took him aside twice, but for some reason he would not stop.  The result?  No play date with Cal this afternoon.  He was upset when he got home and went to bed for a nap (He slept for 4 hours!).

I took Katie out for Daddy/Daughter Day #115 this afternoon.  We went to Al’s Burger Shack for some rosemary fries and ate it on a bench at the nearby Southern Village park.  I brought some pineapple juice from home, and when I was at the Dollar Store last night I picked up some bubble gum, Swedish fish, and a little cannister of M&M’s (see photo to the right).

We spent a bit of time talking about blowing bubbles.  Katie’s “bubble blowing ability” is coming along nicely!

We talked about the first chapter of the “Dad’s Great Advice For Teens” book I picked up a while back.  This chapter basically dealt with the idea “before you do something, ask yourself if you can live with the worst case scenario”.  For example, if you smoke, can you live with the fact that you might have to have your voice box taken out, or die from cancer…

Unfortunately I ate most of the fries, so when Katie said she was still hungry we went to McDonalds.  She wanted a double cheeseburger and an Oreo McFlurry (her first).
