Day #4448 (Fri., Mar. 11, 2022) – Bobby’s 7th Birthday!
Bobby is 7 years old today! On the drive to Glenwood this morning we talked about how the school will announce this over the PA this morning.
I went to Bobby’s school WAY before the lineup to get him this afternoon. Why? To see if his winter coat was in the lost & found rack outside the Glenwood school entrance door. I was just about to leave empty handed when I happened to see it peaking out beneath some of the play mats scattered on the ground. Go figure!
The next step was to go to Harris-Teeter to pick up the ice cream cake that I promised Bobby for his birthday party this afternoon. When I picked him up he was there with his green jacket, the other winter coat that had gone missing. Miss Zayad found it and gave it to him.
When my wife and Katie arrived back from Phillips the festivities began! We put a 7 on top of Bobby’s birthday ice cream cake, sang Happy Birthday to him, and let him open his gifts. Along with the battleship game and FNAF card game my wife and I got him, Katie made three nice drawings for him (see photo to the left).
Bobby really wanted to have a playdate with Cal this afternoon, but they have friends visiting, so Bobby spent a lot of time online playing video games with Katie and his friends. It’s his birthday, so we let him decide how he wanted to spend it.
Katie really loved the ice cream cake and had an extra piece this evening. I was a “medium” size cake so that we will have space for the leftovers in the freezer. We can always go back and get another one, even larger, if it proves to be a big hit.
