I drove my wife to the UNC clinic in Meadowmont early this morning for her colonoscopy. I barely got back home when they called and told me to come and pick her up. Apparently the person in front of her cancelled so they rushed her right in. Good news, no tumors or polyps, so she is good to go for another 10 years.
When we got back home she was starving so I made some “Beef Stroganoff” Hamburger Helper for her. This along with two helping of potato salad filled her up, so she was soon off to bed. I didn’t sleep well last night so I went for a nap as well. The kids, who were happy to each have an iPad, barely noticed us gone…
I showed Bobby how to attach the wooden sword that he bought on Ocracoke to a belt (see photo to the right).
Later this afternoon I told my wife about a new series on Netflix called “Snowflake Mountain”. It basically deals with entitled young people (called Snowflakes) and the process of toughening them up with wilderness skills. We sat around the tv in the living room and watched the first episode this afternoon. The second episode deals with skinning a deer so I told Katie that I would watch that part and we could resume watching the rest of the series together.
