Day #4564 (Tue., July 5, 2022) – Clark Pool

Bobby lost another tooth last night while his mother was putting him to bed (see photo to the left).

I took the kids to the Clark Pool in Carrboro for the first time this year.  In fact, I don’t think I took the kids to Clark Pool since 2019.  In both summers of 2020 & 2021 COVID was raging, and with the kids not being vaccinated we decided it was not worth taking the chance.

It felt good to get into the water again.  Bobby brought his little green “snorkel type” device to try out.  I had to help him so that the end would stay out of the water.  Katie was surprised when I did a summersault in the water.  I had to borrow her swim mask, but a bit of water went up my nose nonetheless.  At any rate, it’s a skill I learned as a kid and these sort of things come back to you.  Katie was focused on a bumblebee that got caught into the deep end of the pool and had to go and “save it’s life”.  We were there for about an hour, and left once Bobby started to get hungry.

I was at a doctor’s appointment for most of the afternoon and the kids spent quite a bit of that time on their iPads.  This evening they practiced their viola/violin for their mother, who promised quite a few rounds of “hide & seek” around the house as a reward.
