Day #4588 (Fri., July 29, 2022) – PS2!
We all went for an hour long dip in the Clark pool at noon today. When we got home I showed the kids my Sony Playstation PS2 and the various games that you can play.
The first game I showed them was the Gran Turino car racing game. They were underwhelmed by the graphics, and since they already have a car racing game on their “Switch”, there was not much there to impress them with in regards to functionality!
I then showed Bobby the “Escape From Monkey Island” game while Katie was in her drawing class (see photo to the left). He was a bit more impressed with the game play, but it’s more like an “Escape Game” and not really the action-paced game that he really likes. When we got stuck we would look the answer up on the internet. There was a full walkthrough of the game on YouTube and we watched that quite a bit. After a bit he got tired and went to play on his iPad. Looks like the PS2 experiment I had failed to impress… 🙂 In fact, Katie later mentioned that the graphics might haunt her dreams (they are so bad)… 🙂
I can’t get the left arrow of the Tetris game working so my wife found another controller on Amazon for under $10… We’re going to see if that does the trick.
Later on in the day my wife downloaded a couple of flight simulators for the Nintendo “Switch” and we all took turns flying. The first game was more of a racing game, but the second game seemed to have all the “bells and whistles”… I’m not a pilot, but there were controls for throttle and flaps and all that stuff.
Looks like I’m going to have to go get milk tomorrow. I showed Bobby how to make strawberry milk the other day by putting some strawberry syrup in regular milk and he sure took to it… 🙂 He’s been drinking the stuff ever since!
