Day #4618 (Sun., Aug. 28, 2022) – McDonald’s Twice
I took both kids out separately today as today is effectively the last day of summer vacation. They are both not too happy to be going back to school (as was I when I was their age), so perhaps this will help to put a smile on their fact.
But first, Bobby had a playdate with Ethan and Brin this morning (see photo to the right).
When Bobby got back, and my wife took Katie for a playdate with Tinsley, I took Bobby out for what would effectively be Daddy/Son Day #54. I let him have various options, like a Frosty at Wendy’s or Duck Donuts, but he chose a Slushy at McDonalds. He initially said that he was hungry, but once we got there he opted for a Happy Meal as well.
It looks like the principal at Katie’s school is going to put Murren and Katie in different classes. Yeah! We won’t know for sure till tomorrow morning, but we’re hopeful!
Late today, for dinner to be more exact, I took Katie out for what effectively became Daddy/Daughter Day #123. She too opted for a Slushy at McDonalds, but didn’t want anything to eat. I, along with her, could not stomach the idea of choking down another McDonald’s burger… 🙂 We drove around a bit, and talked about the upcoming school year, and then went to Whole Foods so that we could get the citrus pops that she loves so much.
We all had a good laugh tonight about “Rick Roll” and the various parodies.
