Day #4626 (Mon., Sept. 5, 2022) – Trader Joe’s Run…

Happy Labor Day!  If we were in Canada this would typically be the kid’s last day of summer vacation.  Growing up, the day after Labor Day was traditionally the first day of school.  In comparison last week was the first day of school for the kids here in North Carolina.

My wife brought Batman up from the basement this afternoon.  Katie cuddled with him on the sofa.  Maple lied down on the radiator in the dining room and appeared not interested.  Maybe they are adjusting to each other?

Time for a grocery run to Trader Joe’s this evening.  I haven’t been to Trader Joe’s in a while.  Aldi has taken the prime spot of our “go to grocer” now that they have opened in Chapel Hill.  Nonetheless, there are still some staples that we like to pick up at Trader Joe’s.  For example, Bobby has been asking for the pineapple drink in the can (see photo to the left).  Luckily they were in stock at Trader Joe’s this evening, and I also picked up some of their counterpart “mango in a can” drinks.  They had drinkable yogurt, but no yogurt in a cup.  Katie also likes the frozen cheese tortellini that they sell.

Katie is not feeling well this evening, and Bobby was not feeling well earlier in the day.  We think it’s just a regular virus.  We did a COVID test on both the kids and they came back negative, but these homemade tests are known to not be that accurate.
