The photo to the right shows the truffles that we get at Aldi. Delish! It would be hard to not live in an area that didn’t have access to Aldi or Trader Joe’s.
I went to the doctor at 11 am today and fortunately she gave me a Z-Pac. I took my first pill and am confident that I’m on the mend. My wife said that she is starting to feel sick, so I need to get better…
I picked up Bobby at Glenwood this afternoon and we talked a bit about his classes. On Monday and Tuesday he has both PE & Music. On Wednesday and Thursday he has Mr. Yang’s Chinese Culture Class, and he still has art class on Friday.
We are still having issues with Katie doing her viola practice. My wife asked her to practice on her own this evening and she did not. For something different this evening I asked Katie if she would play what she knows for me…a kind of a little orchestra.
While Katie played, and my wife was in her office working, Katie and I had a heart-to-heart about viola. She told me that the only reason she wanted to play it was because last year she wanted to be Taylor Swift and figured that this was a good move in this direction. Now that she doesn’t want to be Taylor Swift, she wants to quit viola. This led to a big discussion about viola, and doing things that are difficult for long term results, and training your mind to look at the good side of things. She said that she would keep doing it…but by her tone and demeanor I can see that she is not doing it for the right reasons.
We called mom to the room and discussed the whole “drama” and came up with a plan of attack… So the game plan is that Katie is going to talk to her counselor to see if she can drop orchestra class. It might not be possible, but at least we will know. Katie also said that she would try to work on her attitude to look at the benefits of viola in her life. We need to figure out a plan of attack as having this drama about the viola and orchestra every night is not sustainable.
