Day #4663 (Wed., Oct. 12, 2022) – It’s The Alternator!

With my Camry in the shop my wife took both Katie and Bobby to school this morning.  First Bobby, then came home and picked up Katie and took her to school.  I was hoping that I would have my Camry back in time to pick up Bobby this afternoon, but it was not to be…

Lloyd’s Tire called this afternoon and said that the problem was the alternator on my Camry.  The ordered the part and it will be in tomorrow, so it looks like tomorrow will be another “One Car Day”.

Since both kids have had COVID now, and they are past their contagious phase, they are able to go to school without wearing masks!  Today is the first day in years in which Bobby didn’t have to wear his mask when he is in school and he loved not having to wear one.  He ate in the cafeteria with the other kids, at their table, like a “normal” person.  Katie is also able to go to school without a mask, but she has worn one for so long that she feels comfortable wearing one now.  She said that she might switch over to a surgical mask.

I asked Bobby how things were going with Mr. Yang and he said that he is getting better.  Today he asked Bobby if he would prefer to see a video in English first, and Bobby welcomed the chance.  Mr. Yang thought that Bobby knew Chinese, which is why he never gave him this option before.

Katie did a fantastic drawing of a woman in a long dress this evening (see photo to the left).  The blurriness of the camera shot doesn’t do it justice!

The kids went outside to play catch this evening.  Katie is still on her mission to get better at playing sports.  It can be a bit of a challenge to get Bobby away from his iPad.
