My sister said that everyone is awaiting little Katie’s arrival up in Canada. She mentioned that she would be getting gifts and presents for her, so I told her two of little Katie’s favorite things:
1) Books…preferable with sturdy pages as she tends to rip them out.
2) Anything that will make a noise when you push a button. She will often have 2+ of these devices going at the same time, so it’s hard to make out what is actually coming out of what.
My wife got a package in the mail from Lithuania. It included a plush dog (see photo to the right) that speaks in Lithuanian when you shake it. Since Lithuanian is not a very popular language, it cost a lot to produce. About $100. Apparently they are on sale now in Lithuania for the Christmas season.
The package also contains mittens, woolen socks, hat and scarf, tights, two vests (and a partridge in a pear tree…not really).
When little Katie wants something these days she has a very interesting look on her face. Say for instance that you are playing with a toy that makes a noise. She will want to push the button that makes the noise, and will crawl across the playyard with a very determined face and her tongue slightly sticking out.
I was playing with little Katie in the playyard this evening when she crawled up on top of me and opened her mouth and gave me a “kiss”…I guess you could call it. She hasn’t figured out yet exactly how to go about it, but she knows that I kiss her from time-to-time and wants to go through the motions.
