Day #4728 (Fri., Dec. 16, 2022) – Last Day Of Class

The kids were up early this morning and eager to go to school as it was the last day.  I think back to my childhood and the last day of school before Christmas and the last day of school at the end of the year rivaled Christmas Day itself as the best day of the year… 🙂

On the drive to Glenwood this morning Bobby and I talked about “Parade Day”, which is today.  I guess the kids take turns parading through the halls while the kids in the other classes clap at their costumes.  I suppose it does help you get over your fear of being up in front of crowds at some level.  The photo to the right shows the reindeer antlers that Bobby made in class.

After dropping Bobby off I headed to Trader Joe’s.  There are some foods that Trader Joe’s sells that you just can’t get anywhere else.  Katie loves the tortellini that they sell, so my wife asked me to pick up four packs.  I also picked up some of their steamed buns since the kids loved the dumplings that we got them at the Chinese restaurant the other day.

This evening Bobby and I went outside to play a bit of hockey with the wiffle ball and sticks.  Ginger was dutifully digging a hole and Bobby got fixated on that when I told him she must have heard a gopher or something.  Soon he was helping her dig out “whatever” it was.  Alas, they didn’t find anything…

Katie got an email from Dylan in which they got into a heated discussion about euthanasia of animals.  I asked Katie if he was equally upset about adults in America…  It took a while for that word play to sink in…
