Day #4732 (Tue., Dec. 20, 2022) – Black Widow Jungle Drawing

Bobby had a playdate with Ethan and Brin at Driade Coffee Shop in Chapel Hill this morning.  It was cold outside, so they really enjoyed their hot chocolate (see photo to the left).  They also exchanged Christmas gifts.  Bobby got a “diamond” inside a blue rock kit, and we had quite the time knocking all the blue away to get to that “diamond”.  We first tried to soak it in water, but our good ole’ steak knife, with the serrated edge, worked the best.

This afternoon my wife took the kids to the dentist.  When they got back it was time to open up the advent calendars.

This evening Bobby showed me the drawing he made of a black widow spider in the jungle (see photo to the right).  Katie is making portraits of people for Christmas gifts.  I showed her how to use tracing paper to get the general outline of a face so that she will be able to get the proportions just right.

This evening, after Bobby was in bed, my wife, Katie and I huddled around my computer and watched some old videos of the kids when we were younger.  We also saw some videos when we first got Maple.
