I dropped Bobby off at school this morning and picked him up again at 2:40 pm, which is my normal routine for school days. On the drive home Bobby told me that he had a “beef taco” for lunch. When I asked him what was in it he said lettuce, tomatoes, and chicken. I said that’s quite a taco with both chicken and beef. He replied, “No, there was no beef”… That’s an even more amazing taco, a “beef taco without beef”… 🙂
Bobby didn’t want to have anything to eat when he got home, but he did want a glass of milk. When I produced some of the discounted “Jelly Belly” Christmas candy I picked up at Harris-Teeter the other day he changed his mind (see photo to the left). I had two of these, one for Katie and one for Bobby. I put Katie’s on her desk for her to greet her when she got home from school.
The Embry’s chickens have been wandering into our yard so this afternoon Bobby and I went outside and fed them some rice cakes.
Bobby and I ended up in the front yard later today “destroying” old computers! I took apart the Dell desktop I picked up in 2000 and showed him the various components: the power supply, the CD’s, the floppy drive, the memory, and the CPU before he proceeded to smash it to bits with a sledge hammer. He said that this was the best day ever, but changed it to #2… He said horseback riding yesterday was his best day ever… 🙂
Tomorrow is Katie’s birthday. I’m going to go and pick up a birthday cake for her. She wants an ice cream one, and her top three choices are:
- Cookies & Cream
- Oreo Cookie
- Vanilla or Chocolate
Today is Katie’s last as a “tween”. She will be 13 years old tomorrow!
On the way home from school today Bobby mentioned again that the kids in school are teasing him about having a girlfriend. My wife and I composed an email this evening to his teachers to address this issue. We is our first step and we will be escalating it till the problem is addressed…
