Take a look at the “reddish sky” that greeted us this morning as I walked out the door to the car on the way to take Bobby to school (see photo to the right). Beautiful!
On the drive to Glenwood this morning Bobby was saying how he doesn’t like any submarine bread that is “crusty”… I’m thinking, maybe we could make submarine sandwiches for him from hot dog rolls? They certainly aren’t crusty. He also told me he hates tomatoes now, but he LOVES cucumbers.
I mentioned that I think he would like “Ants On A Stick”. I saw a photo on the blog the other day where we used to make them for the kids. They are basically peanut butter spread onto a celery stick with raisins on top. Bobby said he would hate this even though he didn’t know what celery is… 🙂 Maybe we should spread the peanut butter on a cucumber slice and put raisins on top of that?
Bobby wanted to watch television this afternoon but I said that he would have to do all his homework and practice the violin first. After that, he could watch a bit of television. I did however show him a YouTube video of a lady in the Philippines who gets food out of the trash to make dinners with… Kind of a poor man’s “fast food” if you will. As he sat on the couch eating a Moon Pie I told him that what you are doing right now they would only dream of… I want him to be appreciative and thankful for what he has.
Just before Bobby went outside to play I asked him if he wanted to try some peanut butter on a stick of celery. He did, but spit it up into the trash. I asked him if he wanted to try peanut butter on a slice of cucumber, which he did, and that went down… Kids…
Katie drew a picture of a barn this evening. She, Bobby, and I had a few hands of “Blackjack” and “Old Maid”.
I put Bobby to bed this evening. I have a nice little video of him snoring… 😉
