Day #4789 (Wed., Feb. 15, 2023) – Cockroaches And Twinkies

Today is a “Day Off” for Bobby in regards to after school activities.  Yesterday was Spence’s Farm, and it’s violin on Thursday, but he has Wednesday off.

On the drive home from Glenwood this afternoon Bobby told me that he had French toast sticks for lunch.  He didn’t like the “sticks”, but added that he did like the French toast that they sometimes make for lunch.  They taste different he said.

He also told me that he asked Lucia not to hug him anymore.  She’s a “hugger”, and Bobby hates it!  This lead us into a conversation about introverts and extroverts.  Bobby exclaimed that he is an introvert.

My wife sat in on Katie’s social studies class again today.  Boy what a day.  I guess two boys in the class, Gio and Cody, are particularly bad.  The teacher is nice, but is unable to control the class.  What a zoo…

Bobby was playing outside this afternoon and fell down and hit his head.  My wife gave him an ice pack and told him to hold it on his head for 10 minutes.

Bobby was fussy this evening when it came to playing the violin.  I asked him, “How can you hate doing something that you are so good at”?  This seemed to be a “game changer” as he did much better after that.  He even composed a song by himself.  Hopefully he will be more willing to learn the violin moving forward.

I put Bobby to bed this evening.  We started off by reading a “Viking” book (see photo to the left).  The book mentioned the term “cleaning fish”, and this lead to a description of this activity, clams and oysters, and salmon fishing in Victoria.  We also talked about how they say the only two things that can survive a nuclear blast are a cockroach and a Twinkie.  He laughed at this and I told him I would buy him a Twinkie to try one day.
