Day #4833 (Fri., Mar. 31, 2023) – Off To Victoria!
Andrea arrived early this morning. She will be taking care of Maple and Ginger while we are away.
We left for the RDU airport at 6:30 am this morning and had breakfast in the car. Our first stop was La Guardia in New York and I took a nice video of the Manhattan Skyline (see photo to the right) as we were landing. While in the La Guardia airport we saw an area for people to “pee” their dogs, equipped with a fire hydrant. There was a mad rush to the Air Canada gate, and got there just before they took off.
The next stop was Toronto. We stored our luggage at a shop for $20 per bag. We took the train to Union Station. Bobby was so tired that my wife and Katie exited to Bay Street and then it was back on the train for our flight to Victoria. The family had their first A&W Burger at the gate!
On the flight to Victoria my wife sat next to a South African grandma. She was not very talkative and her daughter and two grandkids were sitting right in front of her.
When we landed we had a hard time waking Bobby up and getting him off the plane. At the Budget Rent A Car location I took a photo of the front bumper to the rental office and he marked a scrape on the paper.
We arrived at the downtown Victoria Marriott and they had us park the Camry on the street. Tomorrow we will need to check it in at Valet parking.
